Taking action against pain

We are dedicated to creating a better future for our patients, so getting involved with diverse initiatives that support this goal is vital.

CHANGE PAIN® is an international, non-promotional educational initiative introduced by Grünenthal across 12 European countries. It is specifically for healthcare professionals with an interest in pain management and aims to increase knowledge to advance the management of patients suffering from acute and chronic pain. CHANGE PAIN® was launched in the UK over 8 years ago and currently has more than 7000 members. It is primarily web-based and hosts a range of CPD-accredited interactive modules, learning resources, tools, an image library etc. Many international and national experts, clinical and non-clinical, have either presented CHANGE PAIN and/or have contributed to the educational content.

EFIC-Grünenthal Grant (E-G-G)

Biennial grants from Grünenthal offer €200,000 every two years for the E-G-G. E-G-G is intended to support early-career scientists to carry out innovative clinical pain research in any member country of the European Pain Federation EFIC®. Individual research grants are worth up to € 40,000 per project for a duration of up to two years. Research grants are intended for clinical and human experimental pain research, including innovative educational initiatives aimed at improving diagnosis and treatment of pain. The decision on awarding grants is made independently by a sub-group of the Working group for grants and prizes of the EFIC®.
